About
Welcome to Binti Msaghane, a community-led initiative dedicated to ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and supporting young girls in Tanzania. We believe in creating safe, empowering alternatives for girls to celebrate womanhood without harm, while fostering an environment where they can thrive with dignity, health, and opportunity.
We redefine "Msaghane"—once a term of marginalization—as a symbol of dignity, resilience, and empowerment.
Our Mission
To raise awareness about the harmful effects of FGM, empower girls labeled as "Msaghane" through education and support, and foster cultural change by promoting alternative rites of passage and engaging communities in the protection and upliftment of girls' rights.

Our Vision
To create a world where girls are free from the threat of female genital mutilation (FGM) and empowered to define their own futures, thriving in communities that value their rights, dignity, and well-being.
Our Global Commitment
At Binti Msaghane, our work directly supports key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
-
Goal 5: Gender Equality
-
Goal 4: Quality Education
-
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being
-
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities
Through empowering girls, promoting education, and supporting mental health, we are proud to contribute to building a more just and equal world.
